About Claudia Russell & Bruce Kaplan
Claudia Russell and Bruce Kaplan traverse the vast Americana musical landscape, stopping at wondrous landmarks along the wayfrom the Smoky Mountains to Smokey Robinson. Russell's songwriting ranges from straight ahead fingerpicking blues to earnest folk pop, to California style bluegrass to Western Swing with a nod to the greats like Bob Wills and Texas Ruby. Lesser singers might stumble, or sound fake and uninspired. But Russell and Kaplan possess an uncanny ability to get behind each song and make it heartfelt and moving. Powered by Russell's expressive voice and signature guitar tunings, Kaplan adds just the right accompaniment on mandolin and guitar to bring the songs home and leave you with a big "Wow!"
The duo is about to release its fourth CD, "All Our Luck Is Changing," produced by Peter Case.
