EDAM Presents
New Choreographic work presented at EDAM Studio Theatre.
EDAMs Artistic Director, Peter Bingham, has developed Snail Tornado, a directed improvisation. This new score continues Peters exploration of how structure determines relationships, how freedom finds expression within restrictions. Performed by Anne Cooper, Elissa Hanson, Arash Khakpour, Walter Kubanek, Diego Romero and Olivia Shaffer.
Guest artist Lesley Telford has worked with collaborators Heather Myers and Barbara Adler to create Anecdote / Bad Day at Mt. Vesuvius. All three artists will perform the work exploring selective memory, eruptions and how we sort through the debris.
Guest artist Arash Khakpour has created Skinning and Unskinning: Please retain this for future reference, in collaboration with performers, Marisa Gold, Billy Marchenski and Mitcholos Touchie. "Inside and outside the room. Vaguely specific and specifically vague. Theres nothing personal. Its only happening in front of you. Doing and undoing at the same time. Its for you to decide. Every decision caries violence, even if its gentle. Splitting, stopping something from happening. A grand or small gesture, texture. Values are irrelevant. Skinning and unskinning. When my pain is your pleasure and my pleasure is your pain. When we start to wonder if we like each otherat all. Anger is part of it all even if we dont like it. Maybe its not about liking. Its about enjoying. Enjoy the show."
