Stage Right presents The Fox on the Fairway
Stage Right Community Theatre proudly presents The Fox and the Fairway written by Ken Ludwig, at Boyd Community Center in O'Hara Township, May 2-4 and 9-11 at 8 p.m.
The Pittsburgh Field Club and Fox Chapel Golf Club battle for bragging rights (and some money) in this farce by Ken Ludwig. The play has been touted as "Ludwig's tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s." Bingham, president of the Field Club, is in a difficult position. Less by finding out that his newly hired hand, Justin, is in love with Louise, the waitress at the club, but by the discovery that the golfer he thought would play for his club has switched sides and has been recruited by his counterpart and opponent, the cocky and arrogant Dickie, and the huge bet he had foolishly wagered is now likely to be lost. The mayhem quickens as Justin and Louis get into an argument and this turns out to jeopardize his plans to win the big bet. Can Bingham find a replacement for the tournament, win the wager, and get his life in order?
The fabulous cast includes: Stage Right favorites Karen Beeken as Muriel, and Joe Eberle as Dickie; Pittsburgh's favorites Bill Crean as Bingham and ReneƩ Ruzzi-Kern as Pamela. Our newcomers include the Pittsburgh Field Club's own Jared Loalbo as Justin, and Cami Needle as Louise.
