Park Slope Homebrew Tour
Despite New York's gnat-size apartments, NYC homebrewers refuse to let space limitations detract them from their mission: crafting some of the city's tastiest beer. On this tour, you'll meet three of the city's finest amateur (and pro!) brewers, who will display their set-ups, discuss their craft and, most importantly, open up their stash of superlative beer.
Today's leisurely walking tour will take us across Park Slope. We'll kick off the tour with Michael Haskell and Rich Armstrong, who should have a saison, May-friendly maibock and a double IPA on offer. Next, we're going to visit the fine folks of Billingsgate, a brewery-in-planning that will be serving a crisp pilsner, another variant on the maibock and Lughnasadh, a harvest ale. Lastly, we're off to meet veteran brewer Kyle Weingart, who will offer up the likes of a Simcoe pale ale, Kings County bourbon stout and perhaps a Sorachi Ace saison.
Eat a big lunch. Your guide is NYC beer journalist and Brewed Awakening author Joshua M. Bernstein.
