May 11, 2013 - Silicon Valley Roller Girls - Flat Track Roller Derby

A rivalry six years in the making comes down to one thrilling doubleheader as the Silicon Valley Roller Girls host the Santa Cruz Derby Girls at San Jose Skate, 397 Blossom Hill Road, on Saturday, May 11.

At 6:00 pm, the Silicon Valley Web Bruisers challenge the Santa Cruz GromShells in a full-contact junior derby bout (ages 11-17). The competition continues at 8:00 pm, as Silicon Valley's KillaBytes, undefeated this season, defend their home turf against the Santa Cruz Harbor Hellcats.

The theme of the night is "Revenge of the Nerds." Wear your best nerd outfit to be entered in the costume contest, or play Nintendo WiiU and Nerd Trivia at half-time to win some great prizes! Grind on delectable treats from the concession stand while browsing various vendors showcasing all you need to bleed black and green. SVRG is proud to partner with two new beer garden sponsors this bout: Strike Brewing Co. and Stefania Wine will be served for $5 all night long, along with $3 PBR. Doors open at 5:30 pm. General seating means arrive EARLY to get track-side spots.

Ticket prices are $12 in advance or $18 at the door, $8 for kids ages 6-10, and kids 5 and under get in free. For $30, a VIP ticket offers premier seating in our trackside VIP section (21+ only, ID required). Our VIPs take advantage of upgraded cushioned chairs, tables, free swag, a dedicated derby girl waitress, and the very best view of the entire track!

A portion of bout proceeds will be donated to the YWCA, which helps change the destiny of women, children and families, offering hope for self-improvement and resources to make success a reality.
