What's the Web Got To Do With Me: Filmmakers On Web Series
a DCTV Presents panel
co-presented with IFP

As the ways in which audiences find and watch content shifts online, a new breed of storytellers have cropped up to produce high-quality serialized work unique to the web.

Join us to hear from four filmmakers who have found success online, as they discuss the art and business of crafting a successful original web-series. What are some of the chief benefits and challenges of the format? How can a creator build an online audience - and perhaps even make a bit of money? And how can a successful web series influence and inform a filmmaker's ultimate career path?

This panel will feature the following web series creators. After the panel, stick around to share a drink, meet the panelists, and keep the conversation going!

PANELISTS:

Ingrid Jungermann is a thesis student at NYU Graduate Film. She was co-creator of the web series, The Slope, and recently wrote, directed and starred in F to 7th, a web series featuring Amy Sedaris, Michael Showalter and Gaby Hoffmann. Ingrid is one of Out Magazine's 100 People of the Year and Filmmaker Magazine's 25 Faces of Independent Film for 2012.

He is currently working on web series projects for ESPN, the History Channel, Official Comedy and Above Average. Formerly, Jared served as a Creative Director at College Humor for two years. He is the CEO and co-founder of Landline TV. He also writes for the UCB maude team CHUNK.

Nonso Christian Ugbode is a writer, producer and web/media conceptualist. He works as the director of digital media for the National Black Programming Consortium, vital to Black Folk Don't, a satirical, documentary web series in its second season featured in Time Magazine's "10 Ideas That Are Changing Your Life."
