Southern Foodways Cast Iron Supper
We are pleased to announce the Fall Scenic City Supper Club - the Southern Foodways Cast Iron Supper - on Sunday, November 4th, featuring Chef Cassidee Dabney, executive chef of The Barn at Blackberry Farm and a 2018 James Beard Award Finalist for Best Chef: Southeast. Chef Dabney is known for creating seasonal, farm-fresh cuisine that highlights the best of the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountain Foothills. Additionally, this event will feature the Southern Foodways Alliance and Lodge Cast Iron to create an unforgettable, Southern-inspired supper. We are thrilled to share that a portion of proceeds will be donated to the SFA, an organization dedicated to documenting, studying, and exploring the diverse food culture of the American South. The event will take place on South Cedar Street in downtown South Pittsburg, TN, the home of Lodge Cast Iron. Supper Clubbers will begin the evening with a cocktail hour and passed hors d'oeuvres. During cocktail hour, Lodge will offer supper clubbers the unique opportunity of a guided foundry tour (located just two blocks from the supper club venue), an experience normally only available to the public during the National Cornbread Festival. Then, guests will enjoy a bright and dynamic meal paired with wine from Robert Sinskey Vineyards and beer from Blackberry Farm. Chef Dabney and Chef Niel will lead the collaborative menu with the help of Chef Kenny Burnap of Kenny's on the Southside, Chef Kenyatta Ashford of Bridgeman's Chophouse, and featured Winemaker Jeff Virnig of Robert Sinskey Vineyards. Together, the team will create a curated menu for a group of 120 guests to enjoy. The full list of participants includes: *Featured Talent* Cassidee Dabney (Executive Chef of The Barn at Blackberry Farm) Erik Niel (Executive Chef and Owner of Easy Bistro & Bar and Main Street Meats) Kenny Burnap (Chef and Owner of Kenny's on The Southside) Kenyatta Ashford (Chef de Cuisine of Bridgeman's Chophouse) Jeff Virnig (Winemaker from Robert Sinskey Vineyards) Styling and florals by Amanda Niel (Scenic City Supper Club Founder) Photography by Jaime Smialek of Our Ampersand Photography
