Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival 2018 Opening Night Reception
Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival is an annual two-day event that showcases films and filmmakers with a connection to Bainbridge Island. This year, Celluloid celebrates its 20th anniversary. The festival will take place November 17-18, 2018 at the Historic Lynwood Theatre.
The Opening Night Reception will take place at 5pm at the Marketplace at Pleasant Beach. Guests will enjoy fine food and drink and the company of Bainbridge Island author Jonathan Evison. After the Reception, head across the street to the Historic Lynwood Theatre for an exclusive screening of "The Fundamentals of Caring," the 2016 film based on Evison's book "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving." Evison will host a Q&A after the film.
Since 1999, Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival has brought hundreds of local films to the silver screen. To celebrate this legacy, were offering up a selection of quirky favorites from two decades of Celluloid. Revisit the highlights of this quintessentially island festival! The retrospective is co-curated by Kathleen Thorne, the festival's founder and mastermind, and TJ Faddis, former long-time manager of the Lynwood Theatre. From feature-length dramas to documentaries, comedy shorts, and experimental music videos, the films in this year's lineup represent the creativity, the hilarity, and the heart that have defined Celluloid from the very beginning.
