anima carnale
anima carnale is a new show that consists of four works by the choreographer Enzo Celli: Paracasoscia, Fragile and Sulla Danza, and Sora - a new choreography created for the company's NYC premiere.
anima carnale is a box of desires and consolations, good memories and good intentions. With a carnal soul I present myself to you with humility and trust." - Enzo Celli
Paracasoscia: Paracasoscia (translated from the dialect It looks like a whiff is a carousel of the most famous melodies which from lyrical world are whiffing towards the audience overwhelming it by means of a language contaminated by dance, break-dance, acrobatic and circus arts, all blended together in a semi-serious play. Paracasoscia wants to play with the Italian traditions language by whiffing away the burden of time.
Fragile: Fragile is a work that is freely inspired to Nijinskys diary. Strongly fantastic, it is situated in imaginary scenery that represents the mind of the great dancer at the peak of his insanity. The artists on the set are nothing else than the projection of Nijinskys mind. With various moments of cheerfulness, the work merges into poetry that naturally becomes one with the insanity.
Sulla Danza: This work features text written by Artistic Director Enzo Celli, whom talks about his relationship with dance and what this relationship has given him as a person.
Sora: Sora (from the Japanese sky) is a naked and raw act dance. Through the primary actions of pure dance we try to catch a glimpse of this "carnal soul" that lives in each of us. Sora is also a tribute to Enzo Celli's roots, being the name of his birthplace in Italy.
