Into the Woods

Montgomery Blair Players is pleased to present Stephen Sondheim's two act musical. Into the Woods intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and follows them to explore the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. In the first act, the characters set out to achieve their goal of living "Happily Ever After" through very familiar paths. Act Two is very dark and deals with what happens in life after "Happily Ever After." Does marrying a Prince always guarantee a blissful and stress-free life? Are Giants really good? Are witches always wrong? How does one contend with a dead giant in the backyard? What happens when people make mistakes? What if someone does not live to see their "Happily Ever After?".
