Funny Women - Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake
Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake - An exploration of how to write and perform female comedy.
Have you ever thought of something funny and not had the confidence to say it out loud? Did you write it down? Want to know how to make words on the page come to life in performance?
Leading comedy producers, Funny Women, host a panel discussion and performance with four women who lead double lives as comedy writers and performers.
Topics that will be discussed include the writing process, what makes female comedy different from male comedy, and the experience of working in traditional male dominated environments.
The evening will include stand-up comedy performances as well as the panel discussion.
Confirmed participants so far include Harriet Beveridge, Cerys Nelms (finalist, Funny Women Awards 2012) and Sarah Courtauld (winner, 2012 Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards).
