ACB Dance Company & TENTH INTERVENTION present MAHAWAY: SPRING ETERNAL
In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Paris premiere of Igor Stravinsky's and Vaslav Nijinsky's The Rite of Spring, attend a live performance of music and dance with the ACB Dance Company world premiere of MAHAWAY: SPRING ETERNAL, based on a Mayan folktale and set to a newly written Stravinsky-inspired musical score that will be performed live by the musical ensemble TENTH INTERVENTION. The show will take place in Brooklyn, New York at the Schermerhorn Theater on May 29th, 2013; that's right, the exact 100th anniversary date (we kept it real!). We will be having a post-performance celebratory reception with a mix of Stravinsky's best scores playing in the background. It's going to be a night filled with honoring dance and musical history, supporting and promoting contemporary composers and choreographers, and celebrating the dance community at-largein the amazing one-of-a-kind borough of Brooklyn!

ACB Dance Company is a classically based modern dance company exploring the universal human condition through expansive and emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. The healing and transformational power of the arts inspires the company to work with diverse groups within the community, in addition to collaborative efforts with other artists. Under the artistic direction of Alison Cook Beatty, her choreography has been commissioned by companies such as Ballet Next, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, and Carolina Ballet Theater, her work most recently performed by Ballet Next at The Joyce Theater, 92nd Street Y and Kaatsbaan.
The company has performed at SUNY Purchase, Syracuse University, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dumbo Dance Festival, Milford Fine Arts Council, PMT Spring Series, Trisklion Arts Center, Beauty in Motion Dance Lab, MishMash201, Astoria Dance Festival, Genesis Dance Project, Perceptions Dance Festival, NYC10 Dance and The Hatch Series.
ACB Dance Company strives to create meaningful dances from the inside-out, fostered by a team spirit and supportive company environment, allowing dancers to grow and explore their own voice as dancers and as people.

TENTH INTERVENTION, under the direction of Dorian Wallace and Hajnal Pivnick, is a troupe of traditional and contemporary musicians based in New York City committed to presenting established repertoire alongside new compositions in alternative settings, employing unique delivery, and challenging the standard expectation of the classical music concert. The primary goal of TENTH INTERVENTION is to expand and stretch the concept of the classical concert. We bring together genres of music within the classical realm and present them to familiar and new audiences.
