Masters of the Celtic Harp
Gráinne Hambly from County Mayo and William Jackson from Glasgow will present "Two Sides of Celtic", a multi-faceted concert featuring their dynamic blend of two harp styles as well as their complimentary talents on concertina, tinwhistle and bouzouki.
With demanding solo careers that often have them performing on different continents, Gráinne Hambly and William Jackson are in the US for a brief spring tour and are routed through Columbia, SC for one show only. On this tour they are promoting their CD, "The Music of Ireland and Scotland."
In conjunction with the concert, a Celtic harp workshop will be offered on Thursday, April 11th; 7-9:15. Advance registration required. Workshop will allow for approx 1hr with Gráinne and 1hr with William. The cost for the workshop is $75. Workshops will be held at the USC School of Music. Additional directions provided with registration.
A limited number of private lessons are available on 4/11 and 4/12 with either Gráinne or William. Cost for a 1 hour private lesson is $65. Please register for private lessons by 3/30. Private lessons will be held at the Redbird School of Irish Music, located near downtown Columbia. Directions provided with registration.
