Nancy Erickson Sings The Carpenters
Having just returned from her performances in Kobe, Japan, Nancy Erickson is hitting her stride. She released her debut CD, "Prelude" in 2011 to very positive reviews and has become a staple in the Pacific Northwest Jazz scene. Nancy's rich, mellow alto voice has been compared to Karen Carpenter and Diana Krall. She has received recent accolades by winning the 2012 Seattle-Kobe Jazz Vocalist competition at Jazz Alley, resulting in a thrilling performance in Kobe, Japan at Asahi Hall which was broadcast live online to over 5,000 viewers. Nancy Erickson's true passion lies in jazz music and it shows. Her pursuit of excellence in musical story-telling is apparent when she lays her heart open and sings a ballad with straight-forward vulnerability.
This show features 23 memorable CARPENTERS classics including: Close to You, Top of the World, We've Only Just Begun, Rainy Days and Mondays, Please Mr. Postman, Superstar, Yesterday Once More, Sing, For All We Know, and many more. Nancy and EJ have chosen only the most memorable songs that EVERYONE can't help but sing along to.
