Editing Workshop with Matthew Graves
Matthew Graves is an award-winning filmmaker whose short and feature-length films have been shown all over the country. He has produced, written, shot, scored, edited, and directed over twenty short films, and in 2003 produced and directed his first feature film Riding the 9. His 2006 film Dummy was selected as best short comedy at the 2006 Tupelo Film Festival and last year Matthew produced what is believed to be the only 3d university promotional spot in NCAA history. Matthew's latest jumbotron epic, "Ole Miss Monsters," played to nearly 62,000 fans at the Alabama game. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Communication from Hardin-Simmons University and Matthew recently completed a Master's degree in Modern Languages from the University of Mississippi.
Students can learn the fundamentals of editing. Interested students may bring their own laptops and software. Or for those without, they can follow along on the big screen and with a handout.
