A Far Cry in Montpelier

Join A Far Cry as they return to Vermont for a joyous and exhilarating program - perfect for early summer! Performances will be:

Wednesday June 18: Montpelier Unitarian Church

Program:
Mozart: Divertimento #3 in F
Britten: Simple Symphony
Corelli: Concerto Grosso op.6 #9 in F
Grieg: Holberg Suite

The program opens with Mozart, one of the great masters of the human voice. Listen to how the instruments of A Far Cry sing and play off one another. Next up, the Simple Symphony combines tunes from Britten's childhood with English folk songs and Baroque dance. Baroque dance takes center stage with the second half of the program, as the Corelli (an honest-to-goodness set of baroque dances) and the Grieg (a romantic Norwegian's take on baroque dances) feature the musicians of A Far Cry seemingly dancing together as they bring the concert to a close.
