On Thursday April 11, Doug Varone invites you to come take a contemporary dance technique class followed by an open company showing at the 92nd Street Y. The class will be taught by Varone himself and attended by his wonderful company members. The open showing will be a chance for you to see some of the repertory the company will be taking with them on their tour of South America later this month, which includes Lux, Home, Chapters from a Broken Novel, Carrugi, and Boats Leaving. Space is limited, so reserve your place now! While there are no age restrictions, dancers should keep in mind that the class will be an advanced level contemporary class.
The admission fees: for class is $22, for the showing is $25, and for the package deal of both is $40.
We urge everyone to register in advance, as space is limited.
The schedule for the day on the 11th will be as follows:
9:30 - Doors will open
10:00-11:45 - Class taught by Doug
11:45-12:00 - Break
12:00-1:30 - Showing (will end no later than 1:30pm)
The class and rehearsal will be held in the Buttenwieser Hall of the 92nd Street Y, which is located on the second floor.
