This training introduces the learner to the 21 Personal Outcome Measures as developed by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) as the basis for quality enhancement in human services. Personal Outcome Measures is a valid and reliable system used to measure the quality of services from the point of view of a person with a disability. Learners will explore concepts of personal outcomes and associated supports through exercise and discussions. On Day One, attendees receive an overview the specific outcome measures, the expectations of each, and skills for discovery of the measures. They gain tools to get to know the people they support better and learn to support more effective person centered planning. On Days Two and Three, attendees receive intensive, specialized training. Participants will have practical, "handson" experience working with focus people to determine personal outcomes and supports. Attendees engage in "real life" assessment followed by guided practice to make accurate determinations of each outcome and support for the person interviewed. This leads to a depth of understanding of the outcomes, how to determine whether they are present, and what supports are associated with each outcome measure.
Attendance on all 3 days is required to receive a training certificate Prerequisite Training: Person Centered Thinking Training within the last two years Registration must occur no later than one week prior to the training. Training will be from 9:005:00 p.m. each day.
