BOB JORDAN BAND / PHIL ZUKAS MATINEE CONCERT SUN OCT 14
This will be BOB JORDANS  first and only Local show in 2 years, since a memorable solo concert at WCUW in 2016. This time he brings his Band (aka the 524Band from many Bob Dylan Birthday Bashes over the years), consisting of Bassist BRIAN ROST, drummer PAUL PRUNIER, and multi-instrumentalist CHIP SMITH, to play a wide mix of Country, Folk, and Rock music, with Jordan up front on vocals and guitar. Bob Jordan has been a local music fixture as a performer, promoter, and DJ (at WCUW) since the late sixties until his move to Rochester, NY, in 2015. This will be a family-friendly event (children under 10 admitted free), and is sure to be a reunion of many old friends.

Brian Rost excels on both kinds of bass, playing in numerous Roots, blues and contradance ensembles.  He has played with Bob Jordan since the mid-eighties in a number of projects. Brian is also the host of the Tuesday In the Tradition radio show on WCUW.  Chip Smith plays with Spider John Keorner, in various folk, blues and Jazz ensembles, on Piano, violin, trombone, guitar and mandolin. Chip was a member of Rounder recording artists The Chicken Chokers and the subsequent Twang roots rock ensemble, as well as the aforementioned 524Band. Drummer Paul Prunier plays in many local bands and first played with Jordan in the Union Music All-Stars, and subsequent concerts since 2013.

As a special treat Bob has invited Pianist Phil Zukas to perform a solo set between the two Band sets. Phil distinguished himself at WCUW in the late seventies doing late-night radio as UNCLE PFYLH before moving away to Maine , then Florida, then Boston, before settling in New Bedford with his family. Phil lost his eyesight in the early 90s but has pursued his unique piano style, blending jazz and classical music, while teaching and performing.  Bob was so thrilled to find Phil after 30+ years out of touch that he felt compelled to bring Phil back to his native Worcester for this show. It promises to be a great afternoon of music and camaraderie.
