The Gerrish Recital: Christopher Houlihan
Dazzling young organist Christopher Houlihan returns to play a virtuoso recital of music by J.S. Bach, Debussy, Duruflé, Saint-Saëns, and Liszt.
Tickets $10 general, free to students with ID (and since it's Mothers' Day, free to anyone who brings their mother!).
Christopher Houlihan is a graduate of Trinity College in Connecticut where he studied with John Rose. He earned his MFA at the Juilliard School in New York where he studied with Paul Jacobs, during which time he earned the Prix de Perfectionnement from the French National Regional Conservatory in Versailles. Houlihan made his orchestral debut with the Hartford Symphony and recorded his first two CDs while still in college, prompting classmates to form the "Houli Fans," a fan base that continues to grow on Facebook. His Vierne 2012 tour, for which Rockefeller Chapel was one of six venues (six symphonies in six cities) attracted international attention and critical acclaim. This is the fourth annual recital in the Brian Gerrish Organ Performance Series.
The Brian Gerrish Organ Performance Series is made possible by a generous endowment given to honor Divinity School professor emeritus Brian Gerrish and to promote the joy of listening to world-class organ performance!
