The 1st ANNUAL Save the CEC Fundraiser!
Come Out and Enjoy an Afternoon of Great Performances
and
Help the CEC Continue to Serve the Community
The CEC-Community Education Center staff and board invite you to the performance fundraiser of the season, The 1st ANNUAL Save the CEC Fundraiser! A call went out and the artist' community responded strong and clear, over a dozen artists/groups will take the stage in support of the CEC. Dancers, musicians, actors, poets, storytellers, a who's- who on the Philly performance scene.
Artists include:
Group Motion Multi Media Dance Theatre - the city's oldest and one of its finest modern dance companies; First World Theatre Ensemble, an excerpt from For Colored Girls;
Spoken word artists Just Gregg and Nicole Stacie;
DanceSpora, co-directors Heidi Cruz-Austin formerly with the PA Ballet and David Austin formerly with Rennie Harris Puremovement; TS Hawkins, performance poet;
Kulu Mele African Dance and Drum Ensemble, the Philly's premiere African dance co.; Fiidla and members of Urban Classique, Owen Brown, jazz fiddle; Kariamu and Company: Traditions; Rennie Harris Puremovement, internationally renowned break dance theatre co.,to name a few.
The afternoon will be hosted by storyteller Jos Duncan and director Ozzie Jones.
