Fiesta De Navidad
This special Fiesta de Navidad show includes world class flamenco performers, sing-along villancicos (Christmas carols in Spanish) holiday treats, plus a special selection of vintage and new flamenco dresses and accessories for sale. Family-friendly performances will feature Emmy Award-winning Artistic Director, Yaelisa, along with dancers Alyssa Bianca Rodriguez, Devon LaRussa, Yukie Takahashi, Molly Rogers, and veteran Spanish vocalist Jose Manuel "El Grillo" Blanco and Jason "El Rubio" McGuire on guitar. Alameda's own Carolina Yong of Chicha Bistro will be serving a traditional Peruvian holiday meal, Adobo de Chancho: barbeque style pork roast marinated in aji panca, dark beer and spices served with rice, salad and glazed sweet potato; emblematic of Spanish colonial influence.

Alyssa Bianca Rodriguez, a native Laredoan, began dancing at the age of 3. She has studied flamenco extensively in both academic and studio settings under the tradition's greatest leaders.

Devon LaRussa is the Assistant Artistic Director and principal dancer in the company Moving Arts Dance and her expansive repertoire ranges from modern and ballet to flamenco dance.

Yukie Takahashi was born in Tokyo, Japan. She began dancing flamenco in 1999 and performing with the Virginia Iglesias flamenco Dance Company in 2002.

Jose Manuel Blanco "El Grillo" is an acclaimed singer from Asturias, Spain

Jason McGuire has become synonymous with flamenco despite his Irish/American heritage. With over 30 years playing experience and concerts from coast to coast, he has been for many years the guitarist other professional players come to help learn and hone their craft.

The mission of Caminos Flamencos is to create and present contemporary, traditional and theatrical dance programs showcasing artists from Spain and the U.S., that reflect the changing face of flamenco in the 21st century. Their programs seek to preserve the legacy of Spain's rich artistic heritage, and bring them to people of all backgrounds, enriching the lives of people with Spanish and Hispanic ancestry, and the community at large.
