Hear it First: 7th Annual Striding Lion InterArts Festival
Beginning June 12th, for five performances only, Striding Lion presents a festival of new interdisciplinary works, with an emphasis on the auditory.
The centerpiece of the festival will be a concert version of Striding Lion's latest interdisciplinary project, THE CONCEPT ALBUM. Informed by such great concept albums as Radiohead's OK Computer and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, in The Concept Album Project, Striding Lion's multi-disciplinary ensemble has utilized the structure of a concept album to create a series of original musical compositions exploring the ways in which the modern individual defines himself, and whether it is possible for humans to define and conceive of one another in an authentic way.
In The Concept Album Project Concert, Striding Lion will perform the album live for the public for the first time.
Openers include parker, a Chicago based performance group; Jeanetta Rich, a New York-based spoken word performer and monologist; and the Puterbaugh Sisters, a musical comedy duo.
Our final performance of the festival is THURSDAY, JUNE 26th at 7PM (PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE!):
Thursday, June 26th, 7pm--parker, Jeanetta Rich, the Puterbaugh Sisters, and Striding Lion at McDunna's (1505 W. Fullerton, Chicago)
