Voices Rising

Voices Rising -- the only showcase of LGBTQ of Color arts & culture in the Northwest -- celebrates Pride with an exciting return! International soul/funk powerhouse Nedra Johnson is coming all the way from NYC to headline our showcase! Her music has been featured on The L Word, and she's a favorite at Michigan Fest and other venues worldwide. (More at her website: www.nedrajohnson.com.) We're fundraising to bring her to Seattle, and present her alongside the amazing emerging duo, THEEsatisfaction. These two women combine hip hop, jazz and funk with impeccable vocals & fierce stage presence. Poet-Populist Jourdan Keith, Chad Goller-Soujourner of CD Forums Creation Project, audience favorite Deborah Turner and multimedia artist Storme Webber round out the bill. These artists and others will be sharing their craft at the event set to take place June 21, 2008, at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center (LHPAC).
