Two one-act plays performed together: Hamelin & Ex Machina
HAMELIN: Samuel has lost his job, his girlfriend and his dignity when he befriends Sierra, a homeless teenager girl looking for God. She introduces him to Adrian, a shadowy woman who offers Samuel what seems to be a way of reclaiming his life. Hamelin re-envisions the Medieval legend of the Pied Piper as a meditation on spirituality and violence in our time, and asks how we are able to make a life in a world overrun with rats.
Director - Michael Moran Playwright - Kristin Idaszak The Cast Sierra - Tessiana Elie Adrian - Kim Blanck Samuel - Gerard Joseph
EX MACHINA: Two co-workers, a security guard, and a mysterious woman unfettered by the laws of physics collide. Set in a factory at the edge of a plastic bag city, EX MACHINA looks at what it takes to escape the fate of a worker drone and live a life beyond the factory walls. A play about dancing, old people candy, meaningful handshakes, and the thrill of rebellion.
