Bonfire at the Iron Furnaces
The 8th Annual Bonfire at the Iron Furnaces will take place Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 6:00 - 10 PM at the historic Scranton Iron Furnaces, a truly unique site with the remains of a standing blast furnace.
This year's event will feature music by the New Orleans-style Indigo Moon Brass Band, Grupo Zona playing their hot Latin beats, and Mariachi Tequila bringing the fiesta! Be entertained by fire twirlers, acrobats, stilt walkers, balloon artists, fire breathing, face painting, tarot card readings, and arts and crafts activities! Experience the ceremonial lighting of the biggest bonfire in North East, PA.
Enjoy award winning barbecue from B3Q Smokehouse, Mexican fare from El Buen Amigo, craft food from the Backyard Ale House, and sweet treats by Sweet Lush Cupcakery! Libations will include spiced cider, beer, and wine from our friends at Banko and Maiolatesi Wine Cellars.Hot beverages such as coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by UNICO.
Tickets include admission to the festival and $5 in Bonfire Bucks, to use towards food, beverage, and activities. Tickets are $20 (until the event sells out). As always, entrance to the festival is free for children 12 and under.
RAIN OR SHINE
New this year!! We have added a special VIP area with an amazing bird's eye view of the event! This heated space is going to include food and signature drink from POSH, beer from Banko & wine from Maiolatesi Wine Cellars, all for only $50. Limited number of tickets are available. (Also gives you full access to the event.)
The Bonfire Festival, is a fundraiser for the Anthracite Heritage Museum, explores the roots of Halloween in Celtic culture and celebrates other cultural autumn festivals while highlighting Northeastern PAs industrial past.
