Brontosaurus Brunch @ the Great Greenfield DinoFest
Schedule for Festival Day, October 6 @ Hawks & Reed 9:30 am - 1:30 pm - Brontosaurus Brunch: a buffet featuring dino-inspired dishes like Primordial Soup, Plant Eaters Delight (broccoli trees growing from a bed of rice), Pickles & Brine, Dino Eggs, Mulled Apple Cider, Pre-Historic Kale Salad, and Fossil-Print Brownies sourced from mainly organic and local ingredients. Brunch includes eat (with) the expert opportunities, $10 available online and at the door (cash/check). Brunch ticket not required for admission to performances. Help organizers with food quantities by purchasing your ticket by Thursday, October 4 at ptco.org/dino or 1-800-838-3006 and receive Piti Theatre dino song mp3s as a thank you.
11 am - Greenfields Grumpiest T-Rex, a musical theatre performance by Piti Theatres Youth Troupe featuring Northampton singer-songwriter Carrie Ferguson about a group of dinosaurs who discover some ingenious ways to make Sue, the local T-Rex, less grumpy.
12 noon - DinoMovies with Live Music: Media artist Lysha Smiths clips from dinosaur movies as back as 1914s Gertie the Dinosaur features a live score by adventurous Valley musicians including Carrie Ferguson, pianist Laura Josephs and guitarist Eric Lemm.
@ 2nd Congregrational Church 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Jurasssic Roadshow Interactive exhibits by PVMA and the 2nd Congregational Church staffed by experts in geology, fossil, local history and dinosaurs who helped create PVMAs website dinotracksdiscovery.org. Activities include: Fossil Finds, Cabinet of Curiosities, face painting, mask-making and Dino Games.
@ 170 Main Street 1:30 pm - Dinos for Change Exhibition Opening Reception. Featuring art by area students answering the question: if you could create something that would inspire people to take care of our planet, what would you paint, draw, sculpt or write? The exhibit will be up for all of October.
@ Greenfield Historical Society, 43 Church Street 2 5 pm. Learn more about Dexter Marsh and see fossilized prints he found.
