Love, Music and Marriage{ An Evening with Margaret Murphy-Webb and Chuck Webb
How often do you have the opportunity to experience the music of TWO amazing artists ..for the price of one? You will. Award-winning vocalist Margaret Murphy-Webb returns to Open Door for the 3rd time and is joined by her husband, renowned Chicago bassist, Chuck Webb. This promises to be an evening of unforgettable music and great entertainment.
BIOS
Margaret Murphy-Webb has performed at Chicago jazz clubs and neighborhood festivals, including the 2018 Chicago Jazz Festival (with her husband) for over 30 years and credits her unique style and showmanship to the tutelage of world-renown Chicago tenor saxophonist Von Freeman. She was named the 2018 Chicago Jazz Hero by the Jazz Journalists of America for her work as executive director of the South Side Jazz Coalition a non-profit organization working to produce more free, live jazz performances, create more jazz venues and promote music education and mentoring for inner city youth.
Chuck Webb has toured the world performing with such notable artists as David Sanborn, Grover Washington, Jr., Ramsey Lewis and Joe Sample to name a few. As one of Chicagos top bassists, he has performed in the orchestra pits of "Jersey Boys"," Wicked", "Hamilton" and "Jesus Christ, Superstar" as well as on hundreds of records, commercial jingles and movie sound tracks.
