Merry Edwards Wine Dinner
One of California's first woman winemakers, Merry Edwards, began her career at Mount Eden Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1974. She went on to become the founding winemaker at Matanzas Creek in 1977 and remained there until 1984. For the next decade, Merry consulted for numerous wineries, large and small, in Oregon and many diverse appellations of California.
In 1997, family and friends joined Merry to found Merry Edwards Winery, with a focus on producing Pinot Noirs with a sense of place from Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Living her dream, she and her husband, Ken Coopersmith, now manage five estate vineyards: Coopersmith, Cresta dOro, Flax, Georganne and Meredith. They maintain collaborative relationships with several other dedicated growers to supplement this estate production.
In 2013, Merrys 40th year as a winemaker, not only was she inducted into the Culinary Institute of Americas Vintners Hall of Fame, she also won the coveted James Beard Foundation Award for Best Wine, Spirits or Beer Professional in the United States, becoming just the fourth woman to win the honor.
Now in the fifth decade of her winemaking career, Merry has earned the universal respect of in the wine making community with the grape growers and academicians. A self-described perfectionist, she has constantly refined her vineyard practices, wines and techniques. Merry does not rest on her accolades she grows. People frequently ask what is the best wine I have ever made. I tell them its not made yet!
Merry Edwards is like her wines complex, balanced and memorable. An intricate blend of artistic vision, scientific training, spirit and grace, she leaves a lasting impression.
Please Join us on Thursday evening, October 18, 2018 at 6:30pm for a 5 course meal designed by Acre's very own Chef De Cuisine Chef Jeffery Compton with delectable wine pairings from Merry Edwards Winery thoughtfully paired to each course by Sommelier, Clayton Cawthorne with Pinnacle Imports.

First Red Beet Raviolo w/ black truffle, house ricotta cheese, egg yolk, ham hock consomme
Second Salmon Croquettes with mustard bechamel, collard green slaw, house bacon
Third Rabbit and Quail Pate with fig mostarda, crispy chicken skins
Fourth Smoked Beef Tenderloin with gilded yukon potatoes, glazed carrots
Fifth Foie Gras and Apple Tart with vanilla bean ice cream, bourbon caramel, black pepper
****The dinner will start promptly at 6:30 pm. The ticket price of $150.00 does include 9% sales tax but DOES NOT include gratuity. There will be an opportunity to leave gratuity at the end of the meal. We look forward to seeing you on October 18th!***
