Since 1985, Marcel Gisler has been producing remarkable films celebrating international success. Gisler is an exceptional phenomenon: living in Berlin, he has been the most significant Swiss voice in Queer cinema for over 20 years.
In collaboration with Frameline San Francisco, the Pink Apple Film Festival Zurich, the largest and most important LGBT film festival in Switzerland, organizes screenings of Marcel Gisler's four latest works.
Electroboy Electroboy is a documentary that explores the breathtaking life of Florian Burkhardt who leaves his confining Swiss surroundings to discover the big wide world, in search of fame and recognition. In a series of success stories Florian repeatedly reinvents himself, changing settings and careers like other people change their socks. But this life on the fast lane soon reveals itself as an escape from Florians own biography, which eventually catches up with him and hits him without relent.
On Wednesday, October 24, 6pm you also have the opportunity to attend a unique encounter with Marcel Gisler.
