CATEGORY V WOODWIND QUINTET PLAYS PASADENA!
Playing together since 2006 as CATEGORY V WOODWIND QUINTET, distinguished Southern California freelancers JULIE LONG, flute, DAVID KOSSOFF, oboe, MARGARET THORNHILLL, clarinet, NATHAN CAMPBELL, horn, and JOHN CAMPBELL, bassoon, can be heard in a concert of unusual repertoire on Saturday, April 27 at 8PM.
Presented in the resonant wood-and-glass sanctuary of the Neighborhood Church of Pasadena, this richly varied program includes the mid-20th-century classic, "Partita" by IRVING FINE, the Strauss-inspired "Quintet, Op. 52" by THEODOR BLUMER, and the West Coast Premiere of a new work by JIM LAHTI!
Member of the quintet can be heard in all sectors of the LA music scene--orchestra, opera, chamber music, recitals, musical theatre, recordings studios, and educational concerts, and teach on the faculty of schools such as Cal State Long Beach, Biola University,College of the Canyons, and Concordia University, as well as privately.
