Alum Luke Woods received his Design MFA from the University of Washington Division of Design in 2008. In this talk, he will reflect on his experiences since graduation.
Woods is currently the Head of Design at Facebook, Inc., where he leads the company's design function overall. In this role, He and his teams have shipped products including Messenger, Internet.org, and Safety Check, while helping Facebook reach a community of over 1 billion people each day. Woods joined Facebook in 2011 and has been Head of Product Design since March 2015.
Prior to Facebook, Woods spent three years at IDEO as Senior Interaction Designer. Before IDEO, he spent seven years studying with mentors at the University of Washington, the University of Cincinnati, and studying abroad in Basel, Switzerland. Passionate about design and making products that work for people, in his spare time Woods enjoys running, cooking, and photography.
