Year End Event for Western Canada Chapter, Special Libraries Association
When: Friday, November 9th. Doors at 6:00pm, keynote address at 7:00pm.
Where: The Post @ 750, an event space located at 750 Hamilton Street in downtown Vancouver (on Hamilton, between Robson and Georgia).
What: Our keynote speaker, Jason Wong is the Competitive Intelligence Research Specialist and Law Librarian at McCarthy Tétrault. Previous to working at McCarthy Tétrault, he worked as a law librarian at the Alberta Law Libraries, an academic librarian at Grant MacEwan University, and business librarian at the University of Alberta Libraries. He completed his MLIS at the University of Alberta. Through these various librarian-based roles, Jason has served a diverse patron base. In his speaking engagement, he will share his observations about diversity in the profession, and how LIS professionals in special library settings can be positive examples for external stakeholders.
Catered snacks and a beverage of your choice is included with your ticket and will be available from 6:00pm. Additional drinks available from the cash bar.
This event is open to all information professionals and interested students.
