FluteFling Aberdeen Flute Weekend All-day Workshop 2018
FluteFling returns to Aberdeen for a weekend of Scottish traditional flute and whistle workshops, performances and informal sessions over 16-18 November.
The tutors for the Saturday workshop this year will be Dougie Pincock from Plockton, Sharon Creasey from Dumbarton and Gordon Turnbull from Edinburgh.
For more information on the tutors and the weekend: http://www.flutefling.co.uk/scottish-flute-weekends/flutefling-aberdeen-weekend-2018/
The tutors and others will also be performing at the free evening session on the Saturday evening.
The workshop is open to Boehm system (metal, classical) musicians, those playing simple system wooden flutes (keyed or unkeyed) and whistles or low whistles in D. Whatever your instrument, this is an opportunity to explore and develop your playing in the context of Scottish traditional music.
As well as working with the different tutors, there is the chance to meet and play with other flute and whistle players from around Scotland and beyond.
Topics covered will include: -different playing styles -tune types -repertoire -technique -breathing, phrasing and tone improvement -history
Whether you play whistle, wooden or Boehm system flute, this is a great opportunity to develop your playing and understanding and be part of the traditional flute revival in Scotland.
