Tai Shan and Karyn Ann
TAI SHAN
Meet in the Middle is a show that combines my love for making music with my husband Austin and my love for literature, especially stories with strong female characters. When I was a little girl, my mother worked a late night shift and my father spent countless hours reading us bedtime stories, nurturing my love for literature. As a songwriter I love the ability to write songs from these characters' perspectives as a way to give a voice to the voiceless or add music to a poignant scene from a book. Meet In the Middle is a show inspired specifically by the strong women I have read about or met in my life and the impact that they have had on me.

Tai Shan is a Seattle-based pop-folk singer, composer and songwriter. CultureMob raves, Tai sings as if the world was unaware of beauty, and it is her task to describe it. A Cornish-College-of-the-Arts-trained classical and jazz composer, Tai is known for her incredible versatility, in both music and subject matter. Though she has plenty of her own life stories to draw fromincluding singing for the Pope, watching all of her belongings ignite in a house fire, playing a music tour through Yellowstone National Park, and teaching music at Seattles Museum of Pop Culture (Mo-Pop), Dusty Strings, and Seattle Girls School, Tai prefers to mine literature. The last two albums of the four she has produced are a collection of songs inspired by literature.

Tai Shan & Austin Garrison were married in 2016, taking a vow that a married pair of artists can succeed in making a life together. Together, they share passions for connecting with the incredible community of people who support their work. In August of 2017, they packed up all of their belongings and travelled across America in a 13 foot Scamp trailer playing music and exploring along the way. Tai and Austin have been featured on NPR and performed throughout the US, including Benaroya Hall, the Moore Theater, the Tractor, Bumbershoot, Seattle Comicon and the famous Bluebird Cafe.

KARYN ANN
With a voice known to beguile the most inattentive bar-goer", Karyn Ann has gained notoriety as a skilled singer and songwriter, drawing comparisons to 60s troubadours like Bonnie Raitt and Carole King and modern artists like Adele and Brandi Carlile. She tours nationally, with notable appearances at the legendary Bitter End in NYC, and the Womens Redrock Music Festival alongside Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls.
Karyn Anns second studio album Be Loud is an eclectic cultivation of the calm, brooding, and compassionate personas she introduced in her 2015 debut album Into the Depths, only this time around its bursting with color  from rock anthem waves to funky dance riffs to more tender and delicate moments, Be Loud paints a world arguing with itself and the observer caught in between.
