Williams was incredibly prolific and throughout his career, he wrote numerous short plays, many of which are experimental in theme and style. In spite of his commercial success, especially early in his career, Tennessee became an outsider - he struggled to be valued and respected as he and his work continued to evolve and as his work changed. So, as a way to honor his artistic courage and tenacity, we put together an evening of some of his most inventive and lesser-known pieces. The plays will be intimately staged at the newly renovated Open Space For Arts and Community on Vashon Island where Civic Rep is currently in residence.
