Röntgen Piano Trio in concert
Join us as we kick off our 6th season with a true stunner - the outstanding Röntgen Piano Trio, featuring some of the most celebrated chamber music players in the Bay Area. Named for composer Julius Röntgen, who in his lifetime was known as the "Dutch Brahms," the Röntgen Piano Trio (pianist Mark Anderson, violinist Antoine van Dongen, and cellist Eric Gaenslen) has been garnering critical acclaim and delighting audiences in appearances throughout the Bay Area since its recent founding in 2017. The trio will perform two of the towering works of the 19th century chamber music repertoire: the Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8 by Johannes Brahms; and the Piano Trio No. 6 in C-minor, Op. 50 by Röntgen. This is a concert not to be missed!
