"An Intimate Evening with Theresa Sareo"
Theresa Sareo is thrilled to be making her headlining debut at Pangea; one of NY's most popular and loveliest cabaret rooms in the heart of the musically historic East Village. Scaling back from her diverse, talented six piece band, she is joined by long-time friends and collaborators; Clare Cooper on piano and vocals, Michael Holland on acoustic guitar and vocals, and newest addition, Matt Sharfglass on bass. Theresa is sure to enthrall the audience with her powerful, captivating vocal style and deeply moving, inspiring musical journey of love, heartbreak, joy and - especially fitting for the Thanksgiving weekend - gratitude.
Singer/songwriter/motivational performer, Theresa Sareo, has been a staple on NY's music scene for over two decades. After surviving a horrible accident which claimed her entire right leg, she has since become a popular inspirational singer/writer/advocate throughout the entertainment, educational, medical, military, political and corporate communities. She was a keynote speaker on healthcare issues with NY Senators, wrote and performed for Former Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, became the first civilian to sing the National Anthem at Walter Reed Army Hospital in DC and received the "2012 Friends of the United Nations Human Rights Award for Empowering the Disabled" in NYC.
"Theresa's vocals are quite impressive, but it's her powerful expressiveness, immense heart and spirit that captivate the listener and make you want to see and hear more." ~Charles Hale, Artists Without Walls/Charles Hale Productions "Theresa Sareo is a full-throated singer...with a voice that makes you think of Bonnie Raitt or Linda Ronstadt." ~Peter Greene, NY Post
"Theresa Sareo still stands tall when it comes to living large and making music - a powerful and moving performer." ~CNN.com/Larry King Live
"Our strength as a country depends on passionate Americans who dedicate themselves to improving their communities...your example of service shows that each of us can make a difference for those around us." ~Personal note from Former First Lady, Michelle Obama
