Allison and Victor + The Midnight Band (www.allisonandvictor.com Stefan on keys Mitch Ross on drums Creating a sonic stew of jazz, blues, and folk with European and Latin spices. Guitar, vocals, and saxophone, these two have made a splash in the vineyards, festivals, listening rooms and National Parks of Northern California and Southern Oregon. Voted as the Music Pick for the Spring Southern Oregon Magazine 2015, these two also performed at the prestigious Oregon Coast Music Festival, the NorCal Jazz Festival and the Napa Artisans Festival. They have most recently shared the stage Delbert Bump and drummer Akira Tana, as well as blues legend Lazy Lester. While their original song Esperanza was nominated in Top 10 by the International Association of Independent Recording Artists, their music can also be heard across the country on the Touch Tunes? Digital music scene. Stefan Schittko will be joining them on keyboard. Originally from Germany, Stefan has had a lifelong love affair with jazz and has been inspired by artists such as Herbie Hancock and Weather Report. Mitch Ross, who grew up in Dunsmuir and Fresno will join the group on drum kit especially for Jazz in the Canyon.
For Jazz in the Canyon, this group will feature some bossa novas in French, English and Portuguese, some classic jazz and some original material.
Charles Valona Trio Originally from the Los Angeles area, music and art has been guitarist Charles Valonas passion and life work for over 50 years. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1979 and then relocated again in 2000 to Shasta County.
Performing with Bruce Calin on acoustic bass and Kinji Kato on drums and percussion, the trio performs a variety of Jazz, Pop and Blues classics with a distinct blend of musical genres and styles. Originally from Hibbing, MN, Bruce has worked as a professional bassist for over 50 years. Bruce has performed with the Minnesota Symphony and some of the most popular musical acts ever, to name a fewBob Hope Orchestra, legendary guitarist Tal Farlow, Peggy Lee and more. Bruce was also the bassist for Garrison Keelers Lake Wobegon radio show for four years. Mr. Calin located to Shasta County roughly 17 years ago from MN and has been a very integral part of the live music scene in Shasta County since. Bruce is a member of the North State Symphony and has performed with many groups here in Shasta County.
