"A Pre-Revolutionary War Legacy, Modern Day Innovation. In 1753, a family of Swiss Mennonites known as the Shenks (later known as the Bombergers) settled in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania. An Old-World distillation methodology and an abundance of hearty, locally grown rye grain led to the creation of a distinctly unique whiskey that is rumored to have even fueled George Washingtons rebel soldiers to victory. This rustic yet elegant style has survived the test of time to much critical acclaim. Throughout the course of over 260 years, the distillery has changed ownership and locations many times. Now located in a state-of-the-art facility in Louisville, Kentucky, the Michters legacy endures thanks to Master Distiller Pam Heilmann and her teams uncompromising dedication to whiskey excellence."
