Night Watch - Presented By The Village Playhouse
Night Watch by Lucille Fletcher
First produced by The Village Playhouse in March 1979, this thriller is full of suspenseful twists and turns, leaving you guessing until the final, breath-stopping reveal.
Unable to sleep, Elaine Wheeler is pacing her living room, when she sees the body of a dead man in the window across the way. The police are called, but find nothing except an empty chair. Elaines terror grows as shortly thereafter she sees the body of a woman in the same window. Thinking Elaine may be having a nervous breakdown, her husband convinces her to commit herself to a sanitarium for treatment. But is she actually crazy, or does someone want her out of the way for their own sinister reasons?
PERFORMANCES: November 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th 7:30 PM November 11th and 18th 2 PM
ABOUT THE VILLAGE PLAYHOUSE: The mission of the Village Playhouse is simple; to provide a place for creativity and learning, to our volunteers and the community we serve. Since our first production in 1978, we have been a place for those interested in theatre to come together and find new ways to express themselves. Our goal is to help our volunteers push the boundaries of what they thought was possible and to stimulate the community we serve with thought-provoking productions, both classic and new.
2018-2019 440TH SEASON: The Village Playhouse is 40! To celebrate we are reaching out to all those involved with our first season (as the Village Playhouse of Wauwatosa) in 1978 - 1979. If you were involved with Showboat, Mary Mary, Night Watch or An Evening with Cole Porter, we'd love to see you again! See http://villageplayhouse.org/1978-1979-season/ for details.
