Wet Electric
Wet Electric sounds like the Internet. Inspired by far-flung influences like Balkan folk music, the Modern Jazz Quartet, and György Ligeti, their mix of complex composition and free improvisation creates jazz meant for today. With unique instrumentation (alto saxophone, Ethan Helm; violin, Gabe Terracciano; piano, Jon Snell; electric guitar, Noah Berman; drum set, Matt Honor) Wet Electric can careen between sonic and emotional extremes: harsh, tender, precise, spontaneous. Their soon-to-be released album, Wet Electricity: Volume I, will present a dense narrative of collaborative constructions alongside the visual art of architect Marshall Ford.
