Asterius the Minotaur has been imprisoned in a labyrinth since he was three. His only companions are three witty controlling Fates and Icarus, who drops in occasionally and is in love with Asterius. Every seven years the King sends young warriors to kill the monstrous Minotaur. This on one of those years. It is also Asterius' 30th birthday. He is not thinking about the battle ahead. He is only thinking about one thing-might this be the year that his Mother finally comes to visit him?
