Spoken Word VS Stand Up
Spoken Word vs. Stand Up is a new show hosted by Aliya Schneider at Bowery Poetry Club, merging the crafts of spoken word poetry and stand-up comedy. Come see three poets and three comedians (bios below) present their crafts, and for three of the performers, try their counterpart's art form. A panel of judges (including comedy producer Teresa Sheffield, Bowery Poetry Founder Bob Holman, and Aliya's cool mom) will determine who of each pair has to attempt their counterpart's craft, on the spot.
