Guys and Dolls Presented by Stage 62
Often hailed as the perfect musical comedy, the Tony Award-winning Guys and Dolls is based on several short stories by Damon Runyon and features Frank Loesser's timeless score. Set in Depression-era New York City, the show centers around two big-city gamblers and the women who love them. Lovable gambler Nathan Detroit is trying to raise enough cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, while Adelaide, his fiancée of 14 years and a headliner at the Hot Box Club, worries that they will never tie the knot. To raise the money for the game, Nathan bets charismatic fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he cannot convince Sarah Brown, a straight-laced mission worker, to join Sky for a dinner date in Havana, Cuba. Things heat up as the unlikely pair begin to fall for each other while Nathan and the gamblers prepare for the highest-stakes game yet.
