Harvest Retreat
This retreat is designed to build strength, boost immunity and replenish energy. Late summer is the season of transition from the exuberance of long, light filled days to the darker, colder yin seasons of withdrawal and retreat. It is a season of ups and downs - warm sunny days followed by sharp wind and rain. It is therefore key that we reap the benefits of our brilliant(!) summer and prepare the body for the colder and shorter days ahead by drawing energy inwards, boosting our immunity, so we don't get knocked off centre. Think consolidation, harvest, growing stronger through nurture, self nourishment and deepening self worth, feeling centred, grounded.
Working with the stomach and spleen meridians that run down and up the front of the body, practice consolidates core strength, increases foundation and connects us with the earth, grounding our energy and awareness.
Practice is in two halves. The first 2-4pm is an energising, enabling practice where we focus on building core and leg strength, coupled with opening and clearing the stomach and spleen meridians, so our energy flows - delicious sequences that bring core awareness and enjoyment to a new level. You will feel a boost, capable and strong from the ground up. Good times! We will enjoy a deeply relaxing yoga nidra to round off before tea break of herbal teas and tasty organic snacks.
The second half will centre on a restorative practice of MELT (connective tissue hydration), qigong, pranayama, meditation and deep relaxation to continue to fill our energy reserves. A calm, quiet practice that goes deeper, allowing the busyness of daily life to peel away, bringing contentment.
From 6pm the amazing Glasgow Supper Club will serve delicious food to nourish body, mind and soul, inspired by the season. Devoted to self care and nurturing, this day will fill your boots!
If you are a beginner and would like to attend do get in touch. I always offer options as we go and would love you to join us.
You are welcome to attend the full retreat or from 4pm. Both ticket options include having your tea cooked for you!
