Birds of a Feather aka "The Birdcage"
Gatsby's, in association with City of the South Theatre Co., is proud to announce that our first live production of "The Birdcage", will open to the public on Friday April 5th! The show will run for three weeks on friday and saturday evenings at 7:30pm as well as a saturday matinee show at 2:00pm. The event will take place on our main dance floor, with ample seating provided around and on the dance floor/stage itself which will allow the audience to really feel that they are a part of the action! Our live shows are directed by Tony Smithey, who leads and all-star cast of actors and will also be starring in many of the productions himself. Tony has received professional accolades for his roles and directorial prowess in plays like "The King and I", "Chicago", "Midsummer Nights Dream", "Macbeth", "Les Liaisons Dangereuses", "Pygmalion", "The Wizard of Oz", "Grease", "Steel Magnolias", "Some Like It Hot", "Beauty and the Beast", and "The Phantom of the Opera", to name a few.
We will be serving our signature craft cocktail, dessert, and coffee menus during each show, brought to your side by one of our amazing staff members, decked out in full 1920's costume. Come early and enjoy and drink in our elegant and comfortable lounge before making your way back to the stage area!
After "The Birdcage" wraps on Saturday April 20th, we will quickly jump into our next production, "Sordid Lives", then "Dangerous Liaisons", "Great Gatsby's" (a special adaptation written just for us!), "Les Miserables", and finally "Chicago". You won't want to miss a single one of these amazing live productions!
