Come on this relaxed and fun basketweaving weekend to learn the principles of willow basketmaking, creating your first basket (s) or learn new weaving skills to incorporate into your practice!
Students will be able to create one large or two smaller baskets over the weekend, working within round basketry techniques.
We will cover: round bases, pairing, staking up, waling starting with butts or tips, French and/or English randing, other weaves if wished, rod and or trac borders, handles or handle holes if wished.
If there are particular skills you would like to learn, please get in touch and I will see what I can do to include them.
The course is suitable for beginners or those with basket weaving experience.
We start at 10 and finish at 4.30 on the first day and start at 10 and finish at 4.30/5 on the second day. (No-one leaves without completing their basket!)
Please book 10 days in advance to allow me time to sort and soak the right amount of material.
Tea, herbal tea, and coffee provided. Please bring your own packed lunch.
Please Note: If you have to cancel your place after the soaking time (10 days before the event) then refunds will no longer be available through Brown Paper Tickets as materials have already been purchased and prepared. If you are looking to cancel within 10 days of the event please contact the event organiser directly at courses@annaliebmann.net.
