Synopsis: Santa Cruz County is currently the fourth least affordable housing market in the world. Santa Cruz home values have shot up 8.6% in the past year and on track to reach an average price of $892,000 by January of 2019. Collectively produced by a group of 19 UCSC student filmmakers, At Capacity is a timely look at the housing crisis in Santa Cruz. Documenting the local rent freeze campaign from signature gathering to city council vote, high end real estate tours, Santa Cruzs growing homeless tent encampment, tiny home dwellers, new construction, housing lawyers at work, and much more, At Capacity weaves together a complex portrait at the issues that affect local housing.
