This haunted house classic, starring the incomparable George C. Scott, is based on actual events and is so good that it is on best-of horror lists of both Stephen King and Martin Scorsese. When classical composer John Russell (Scott) loses his family tragically in a car accident, he moves to Seattle for a teaching job at the University of Washington. Searching for a quiet place to work, he unknowingly moves into a mansion that comes with many strange noises and visions, causing him to dig deeper into the history of the house and its disturbing past.
